The East Aurora Kiwanis Club, East Aurora Rotary Club and other clubs in the East Aurora area have put together a large mutual fundraising raffle effort to benefit one of the small war-torn towns in Ukraine affected by the Russian invasion. The town we have selected is Malyn, a town with a similar population to that of East Aurora, just northwest of Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv. Malyn has suffered significant damage from Vladimir Putin’s initial attack at the beginning of the siege in February 2022, including damage to one of their school buildings.
Rather than wait for the war to end to begin fundraising for rebuilding efforts, we thought it best to start now, so that we will be ready to help when Ukraine pushes Russia back from its borders.
Since there is a family in East Aurora with a direct connection to Malyn, we can bypass the chance of involving governmental agencies in our efforts to help the battered town. Please consider becoming a supporter of our fundraising effort.
